Qualifications for Employment with Crow Excavating in Tofino:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- Experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment
- Class 1 BCDL is preferred, alternatively a Class 3 BCDL with Airbrake Endorsement
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and to keep neat and accurate records
- Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety requirements and procedures
- Mechanical skills are mandatory, prior experience is an asset
- Polite, hard-working, motivated and willing to work well in a team environment
Responsibilities for positions with Crow Excavating:
- Operate excavators and bobcat skid steer loaders to excavate, load and grade rock, gravel or other materials during construction and related activities
- Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment and have the knowledge to recognise issues as they arise
- Perform maintenance checks, light duty maintenance of equipment, and routine repairs
- Manual Labour including shovelling, raking and laying pipe in all weather conditions
- Drive Gravel Truck, delivering materials, transporting and loading equipment
Applicants should be aware that a Clean Drivers Abstract is required and have the ability to pass pre-employment background checks including drug screening & physical assessment. Short term housing can be a challenge on the West Coast, parking for a RV may be available.
